Archive Cooperation WG

Objectives and tasks

For the field of traditional archives, the Working Group is trying to build a bridge between the more general standards for digital archiving and the practical implementation problems of the individual institutions. The initial impetus for establishing the WG was a nestor workshop entitled "nestor and networking the archive sector: current situation, desires and prospects" in April 2015. A large majority of the participants expressed a desire to establish a working group in which the practical possibilities of cooperation could be explored.

The first meeting of the WG was held in January 2016. The agreed work programme is aimed at analysing best practices and identifying requirements. 
Solutions are to be investigated in a second step. The results are being published by nestor.
