Database Supported Long-term Archiving of Digital Objects | 1.5.2003 | 1.6.2005 | Aim of this project are basics and techniques to achieve archiving systems which are more integrated, open, and flexible. Therefore, two major work packages are defined. On the one hand the potential of database systems for the implementation of archiving systems is analysed and on the other hand basic issues for modeling representation information (this kind of information is necessary for interpreting archived bitstreams) with the help of ontologies are explored. A framework for the classification of archiving scenarios provides the theoretical basis. |
