GEDCOM Format (Genealogie)

GEDCOM us widely accepted and has become the default format for interchange of genealogical data. It does have some weaknesses. For example it did not provide support for the genealogical proof standard. Also, it has not been updated for several years and does not reflect technology advances.
Zum Austausch genealogischer Daten wird in der Regel das GEDCOM Format verwendet. Die bisherige Version wurde einige Jahre lang nicht aktualisiert. Daher hat das FamilySearch einen neuen offenen Standard veröffentlicht namens GEDCOM X.
As a result, FamilySearch released a new open standard back in 2012 called GEDCOM X. All of our genealogical data is exchanged using this format. It is also the specified format for our long-term preservation system when storing genealogical data.
