The University of Erfurt has set up a database through Wikibase to gather and structure information starting with a dataset on Illuminati. Together with staff from the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek we will enrich and enlarge the database adding data from the Gemeinsame Normdatei (GND). We will focus on data relating to entities prior to the year 1900. Emphasis will be on persons and corporate bodies but could be stretched to further high-level entities within the GND ontology.

To achieve the aim we will set up a common taskforce and start working on 

• exchange of experience using Wikibase 
• creating sustainable workflows for mutual support
  • transferring, match & merge, selected data from GND to Factgrid 
  • iterative bi-directional   updates 
• drafting perspectives for a long-term cooperation 

from first quarter 2019 on wards.

Next steps:

1. drafting the project in order to establish it as approved in both partnering institutions (before December)
2. appointing members of the task force
