This international satellite conference, organized by the German National Library, the Swiss National Library and the Austrian National Library focused on subject access from different perspectives. The needs of the library users, the cooperation between libraries and further cultural institutions and the requirements of a digital world have an impact on cataloguing rules and practice. RDA is an answer to this paradigm shift. The conference focused to subject cataloguing and engaged to a wide discussion about all aspects of subject cataloguing involving the future work with standards in institutions providing cultural heritage.
